StockQuest is an online stock-market simulation game. It uses fictional companies, prices and game money. This policy explains what information StockQuest collects, why it is used, and the choices available to players and parents or guardians.

We aim to collect as little information as reasonably necessary to run the game. Depending on how you use StockQuest, we may process:
We do not ask players to provide their real name, school, home address, telephone number, payment-card details or financial account information in order to play.
StockQuest is designed to be suitable for players aged 10 and over.
Players aged 10–12 can create a username-and-PIN account without providing an email address. We ask younger players to use a nickname and not their real name. Email collection is disabled for the 10–12 account option.
Players aged 13 or over may optionally provide an email address for account verification and PIN recovery.
StockQuest does not currently provide direct messaging between players. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information in a username or otherwise, they can contact us at info@playstockquest.com to request review or deletion.
StockQuest Live allows a teacher or group host to create a private game room. Players join using a QR code or game PIN and choose a session-only nickname. No player account, email address or personal PIN is required for a Live Game.
Live Game nicknames are unique only inside that session and do not reserve or change usernames in the global StockQuest account system. The host can see a live session leaderboard. Live Game data is intended to be short-lived and may be deleted automatically after the session.
A player's chosen username and score may be displayed publicly on the StockQuest leaderboard. Players should use a nickname and should not include their real name, email address, school, location or other personal information in a username.
Email is optional and is available only through the Age 13+ account option. If supplied, it is used for verification and PIN recovery. We do not currently use recovery email addresses for marketing.
StockQuest uses service providers to host and operate the game. These currently include Netlify for web hosting/server functions, Supabase for database/authentication services, and Resend for transactional email. These providers may process limited information on our behalf in different countries.
StockQuest may be accessed internationally. Where privacy laws require safeguards for transfers of personal information between countries, we will use appropriate contractual or other lawful safeguards provided by our service providers.
StockQuest uses browser local storage and session storage for functions such as keeping a game session active, remembering login state, currency choice and sound settings. These are used to provide the game and remember player choices.
We do not currently use behavioural advertising or non-essential advertising trackers. If we later add analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking, we will update this policy and introduce any consent controls required by applicable law.
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including operating player accounts, maintaining leaderboard history, preventing abuse and meeting legal obligations. We will periodically review retention periods as StockQuest develops.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. Player PINs are not stored as readable PINs. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain uses of your personal information, or request a copy of it. Parents and guardians may also contact us regarding a younger player's account.
Requests can be sent to info@playstockquest.com. We may need enough information to identify the relevant account without asking for unnecessary personal information.
We may update this policy as StockQuest changes. The current version and its last-updated date will remain available from the game.
